I remember trying phones in stores (shortly before Windows phone died). On Android you'd touch the phone and get instant reactions, on Windows you'd touch and wait for a slow woosh animation, until a few seconds later a text only

Sadly, the to me most important parts of Maps are live navigation and live traffic status. I'm assuming you can't get those with osm (yet). The actual maps are much better in osm than in Google.

A German neighborhood social network uses this, and I prefer this over all other sites I visit that have passwords. I only need a new login link when I switch to a new browser or device, so it's not really annoying at all.

Once I tried Airdrop between Macbooks it was very flaky. Haven't had any problems with localsend so far (Windows, Linux, Android).

I once tried Kotlin for a pet project, but after a while switched it back to Java, since it's good enough, IDE support is better, it's much faster. I guess if you use/like Intellij it's ok.

Even with inotify failing, if the system is plugged in and idle, it could quickly do a scan for files with update date > last known indexed time and index those. Like once per day maybe. Wouldn't take much load or memory, IMHO.

Exactly. If you want to test military missiles, you do it in the f'ing desert, not from New Jersey. You want to run ai without guardrails, do it in an airgapped system or be held accountable.

The different is who's operating. In one case you only tell the car to get from a to b, in the other case you explicitly instruct the ai to do things. If the ai causes damages, I'd say it depends on what you prompted. Did you try

I wonder if these could be dangerous if there is ever a leak releasing the CO2. I believe humans only tolerate very low concentrations in the air. Happy they named it EcoCute, that's so much better than ElectroCute :)
