Not even close. Mozilla has been windows-centric for years. While they've kept Linux support really well, and most features make it, windows tends to be the first platform they address. Under the hook, it's extra windowsy. For exa

The mobile version is generally okay, but it takes way way much more than safari to start up, which absolutely sucks when you just when to quickly look something up.

.local is reserved for mDNS too, so using it internally via an authoritative DNS is bound to result in issues.

Oh, thanks, cool. It's designed with GNOME in mind, but not part of GNOME itself, so installing it doesn't require pulling a huge part of GNOME either, and that's a nice plus! :)

Authentication is hard. And that's exactly why you should never have to be writing your own auth code, but rather, use existing frameworks. There's so many tiny details and edge cases that can have such catastrophic results, it&#x

Does anyone know the name of the app that's listing/displaying fonts? It looks pretty neat, and I haven't found anything good-looking like that for Linux/*nix.

No; systemd handling encrypted boot isn't new. I moved to using it over a year ago, and it was already quite spread within the Arch community (from the amount of forum posts, etc at the time), so it's probably quite older than tha

I was actually amazed they don't test this scenario (I was one of first affected by this bug on all my systems about a week ago). LUKS encryption is probably THE most common setup for newer desktop linux installations, so I was amazed

Actually, you mean "pensions are defined in the US" aren't portable. Employer and pension are not tied together in a great deal of countries - for example: state-controlled. So even if you switch jobs, the plan remains the sa

You could generate a checksum each time you generate a new kernel. If you need some pre-kernel checksum validation, that might be a problem though.

An alphabet isn't enough to describe some [stupid] bank password requirements (I do admit the banks are really the problem here though). Two banks I've worked with recently: * No consecutive digits, not your initials. Numbers cant

I agree with all these points completely, and I'd like to extend a bit more: * The criticism of cloud-based storage isn't really valid. Any decent password manager should only sync the encrypted data, and never move anything unenc

The low-res and low amount of RAM make it a completely different league compared to an MBP. Not sure which chromebook you have, buy they also tend to have quite smaller SSDs. Generally, chromebooks are modern netbooks (not saying that'

Gamer laptops tend to be very overpowered video-wise, and have much poorer battery durations. Either that, or they're very big and clunky.
