If they're well enough announced, you opt in by leaving the tab open. You can opt-out immediately by leaving.

What I've found works best for keeping access to photos restricted, is clicking on "Share" on the iOS photos app, and then selecting the target app (eg: FB Messenger). This means that the target app doesn't get access to

What if an app edits a photo? The exif location data would then be permanently lost. It's not as simple as that.

That doesn't really make it evident that letting an app access a photo lets it access the photos location. You and I both understand that that's metadata in the file, but non-tech users don't know that much -- they might simp

This is probably only something that tech-related people understand (and maybe some specific types of photographers and designers). The great majority of the population doesn't really know that "photos store location", let al

I'm amazed there's no mention of GitLab's Pages. They seem to be quite superior in this aspect. You can just configure CI to run any arbitrary script(s), and publish the resulting files. This also includes Jekyll (which is tr

Fire is extremely dangerous in Antarctica, even though it sounds counterintuitive. Firstly, it's hard to put out. Even though there's lots of frozen water, liquid water that you can throw onto a fire to put it out is lacking. Seco

I've been using the tests version of this for some time now. It's great. Keeping work/personal sessions from mixing is really useful (eg: I want my work google account whenever I visit gmail, but my personal one for youtube).

Using .local is just asking for trouble -- avahi/bonjour/mdns have used that pseudo-TLD for ages. Using that locally is a great recipe for things breaking.

This is perfect and great. I'd love to see gradually (yes, GRADUALLY, without breaking anything!) all TLDs do this. ".localhost" has existed and been popular for local development for MANY years. I've no idea why somebod

I've found here maps to be far superior to apple maps. Apple Maps are still awful (I once wanted to go about 5 blocks from home, walking, and the app decided that the destination was cross the atlantic. Lots of things alike). DDG works

Game trailers as ads? Over 95% of the stuff I watch on Youtube is gameplays, collagehumor and tech reviews, yet all my ads are diapers or clothing softeners. I've no idea why their algorithm sucks so much for my account.
