One has to start from somewhere I guess. I doubt anyone would learn K8s thoroughly before getting any such job. Tried once and the whole thing bored me out in the fourth video.

Doesn't a tariff drive up prices? (or at least intended for that)

In Canada they give new parents a book about that. Maybe ask around to see if your gov is doing the same thing?

When Trump ups everything from China by 100% I guess US would be able to make something with profit?

Can absolutely relate and understand. I taught myself C++ by writing games with SDL2. The first game -- snake took about a couple of hundred lines and I put everything in one .CPP file. And I felt pretty good. The second game, well, I forgo

Wow that's really a lot...do you happen to live in Florida and work in the defense industry? I saw someone with 5 kids posting hiring posts a couple of years ago and he also has a lot of kids, so just asking.

For me it's the kid. Kid doesn't really take a huge chunk of time, but he takes all the time between 5pm and 6:30pm, 50 mins between 6:30 and 8:00pm, 10 mins between 9:00 and 10:00, and many times 30 mins between 8:00pm and 9:00pm

For whoever appreciates Dostoevsky, I recommend reading Lev Shestov.

Reminds me of the big blue disk and gamer's edge from which ID Software grew. We now have an abundance of software to enjoy but I wish I lived through the early days.

You have to love what you do, otherwise you won't care in the long term. Once you figure out that the rest is trivial.

I think engineers should be more forceful to lead their own visions instead being led by accountants and lawyers. After engineers have the power of implementation and de-implementstion. They need to step into dirty politics and bend other p

Thanks, 2h is a bit too much for me, so what I do is about 3-4 10-12 mins walk-sprint walk reps. Basically half walk (3.5m/h) and half sprint-walk (4.4m/h). I wish I could do more but my joints are not really good.

Thanks, that's good enough. I have been going to weight loss for over 6 months but I'm stuck between 79 and 80kg. It's a bit difficult to add more weight lifting because I tended to hurt myself, so eat less is better.

Just curious, does your appetite come back whence you cut off the meds? The only reason I want to lose weight is to eat more freely, won't be useful if I lose my appetite too.

Scrollbars seem to be the No. 1 enemy of UI designers. On MacOS, even with scrollbars always turned on, app designers still try to hide it whenever possible. I think it's a mindset or some underlying library issue because I have seen s

Thanks for sharing. Really interesting projects. I myself had some fascination about game dev but it's just too much of effort to create art assets. Nowadays it's a lot easier for artists to create games instead of programmers, un

A few years ago we got the same thing: a guy sent a email to finance showing his bonuses and somehow sent it to everyone. Then everyone knows his bonus and salary.

I think finding them has the most fun. I'll probably also collect some good trilobite fossils if I can find some. But I believe reading reports -> figuring out where the location is in modern map -> finding exactly the same spots

Basically my No.1 rule about Ads is that I don't buy any brand in the Ads and I tell my family and friends about this too. Of course occasionally it's a brand pretty tough to avoid and then I wonder why they need the Ads anyway...

One has to take care of his own mental issues. I don't think you should be blamed on anything. If I were in his shoes I'd find another gig quickly.

However, I find it difficult to believe that all other staffs, e.g. the retrieval teams, the scientists, can keep their mouths shut. Unless they live in a cave from birth to death.

Still haven't figured out what I truly love at age 40+. Guess it's a life long mission. Maybe that's what I truly love to do -- to figure out what I truly love to do. How pathetic.

Yeah, it's half money and time and half kid. A more realistic option is to just buy a chalet in a relatively remote area so I have access to some sort of plumbing system. But then again it's tough to find a stable remote job and a
