why not write a one line python program instead? I'd never use the shell for these kinds of things. Quickly they grow into more than something that a simple one liner can handle. Before you know it, you're reading from a CSV and s

it would also get one in trouble at many companies. Anyone's that's ever been through an acquisition will know that due diligence includes code scans - it's highly unprofessional to let cursing into a code base.

I would think the "why" here is obvious. People have their photos on their phones these days. Whether that makes sense or not, it's just how it is. People said 110 and 126 were stupid ideas too, but they sold well for years.

It's not that people have to find something to complain about, it's just accurate. It's ridiculous to say VNC can be implemented in 200 lines of JavaScript. Of 200 lines of any language. If the third party library does low le

the top review was by the man himself, Peter Norvig. That's very high praise indeed. I'd read it if it weren't about Lisp, a language that is bad for all the same reasons it is good.

I was hoping for some statistics. Rather than trying to convince people, it would be a far more compelling rebuttal if there was some data to backup the comment. Without data, it's just opinion, and that reflects on the one with the op

Obviously the bullet train is going to be a disaster, but if there were a high speed train (as in Europe) from SF to LA, I would definitely leave my car home and use the train. I'm only to happy to free up I5 for you.

Of course, the whole post is pointless and borderline luddite. I don't get calls every ten minutes, and don't play Ruzzle at dinner. Getting rid of his cell phone sounds like a substitute for not having any common sense or self co
