You are very much mistaken on that one. Those consensus meetings can not decide anything against the will of the users. In fact bitcoin core would hard fork bitcoin if miners agreed to mine too big blocks and nobody could dictate the users

Also no more .thumbnails folders I imagine images appearing as fast as I can scroll, with enough visual clue to them to find images way way more quickly than with thumbnails today. As a start, thumbnails could use flif.

A good product should support small and large groups and being a part of a small group can be valuable but I disagree that you can coin the adoption numbers of diaspora in any sense as a success. Diaspora might be a success on the software
