That's my point: that if you create a standard like this but don't enforce it (which is not the same thing as its legality) it won't matter. What is the consequence going to be of ignoring it? Will it be enough to actually

The point is that it's not being enforced, so if we assume what you say is true for the sake of argument, then the only way that would be OK was if a different cookie banner was shown for visitors from the UK, which I highly doubt happ

The most frustrating thing about these cookie banners (more like cookie lightboxes) is that almost none of them are compliant with the rules. Unfortunately I don't have time to find the source right now, but I'm pretty sure I'

This feels like a pretty lazy anecdote to mention off hand without any context of how these two side effects compare in terms of lethality.

Surely that depends on where in the US you live. It's about $2,400 a month which is by no means categorically impossible to live on in any part of the US.

Ok, but Stockholm has about 1/10 of Sweden's population. And you're right, the tax isn't much different if you factor in federal tax.

How sensationalist and lazy. The gas price in Sweden is $7.2 per gallon,[1] in a country where the median hourly wage is $11.9[2] which is more or less half that of California at $22.7.[3] ~~Sure, Sweden may have more public transport, but

My personal opinion is that if you can find it in an English dictionary, it's an English word. It's pretty common, in English as it is in all languages, that the pronunciation differs from that of the original language from which

I'm going to ask a naive but honest question: what is the security benefit of a piece of "key-hardware" over a passphrase protected key stored on a "normal" storage device? I understand that for someone that moves

A bugs value is due to its impact, not how hard it is to reproduce. And there may have been a lot of initial research involved, who knows. Still, the money isn't paid for time spent.

This might be naive of me, but isn't this in a way fixed by systemd service handling? Assuming the process in question is, in fact, handled as a service of course.

There are some cases where re-writes in Go or Rust are just so good that the "originals" become almost entirely obsolete. Hugo is one of those tools, ESbuild seems to be another, or ripgrep for Rust for example.

There's nothing wrong with being confused by prose, or poetry, or art in general. You're free to like it or dislike it regardless of whether you feel you "understand" it or whether your understanding corresponds to that

It's prose, it's not a technical manual. There's no "ELI5" for art, because art happens inside you. For example, "Wave" (1889) by Ivan Aivazovsky[1] is a painting I really like. It speaks to me, but how do

If it was true that the way to create more jobs was simply to make people's lives even more precarious, then it would be as simple as just removing every single social welfare program in existence. It turns out, unsurprisingly, that a
