WFH made me and my coworkers work later since it bleeds easily into daily life. It feels harder to setup boundaries. I took a vacation to get work done. I needed to get out of meetings and not have to check slack so much.

I think the relationships in a corporate environment aren't conducive to bringing out the best in people. If you work in one, the best you can hope for is for your team to be left alone and managed by earnest and diligent engineers tha

I agree that Service Meshes should be easier to use and configure both statically and dynamically. The cost of running them is also a con. Those extra sidecars make your pod heavier and slower to start. I disagree that they should fade out

I hate it when I'm emailing someone with a deliberately long response and by the time I send, the thread has already gone on and I have to re-merge it.

You as the consumer accepted the terms of service of the hosting site. So don't be surprised when things like this happen once you've violated the terms of service.

I think the popular conception comes form the fact that if you are a good leader, you want them to make decisions. From a management perspective, this means telling people what to do. Of course, leaders recognize that bossing people around

People will try anyway. All that responsibility and yet no accountability. The fact that the pandemic is a rare event is not an excuse in my opinion. If anything, it's a reason to hold them accountable.

I find it fascinating how we submit batteries of tests to code as software engineers. Yet when it comes to our own health as a species, the rigor suddenly falls.

I agree. The question to ask is "how do you boil those problems down to computational problems?". Those problems you've listed are broad but solutions to subproblems would go a long way. I'm surprised this hasn't be

I'm a fan of IBL style courses. I don't know if it scales well but it isn't obvious to me that it can't. If a student can teach better than the teacher, then that should be good enough. The point of higher education is t
