Question is that how long is foreseeable future? It is very likely that the time span for an individual is long enough that the change does not matter. Still the future will arrive and most likely sooner than we thought.

Everything is much easier with decent support network (grandparents, family, friends) that can help. Lacking that, things are much harder. "I could not have done it without our family and their support!" is not without reason.

Pretty similar setup, 13" Macbook Pro (mid 2010) with SSD and 8GB of RAM. I've had to change battery one time, but other than that it works as expected. I expect to get couple of more years of usage out of this.
