The answer will vary depending on what part of Canada you’re looking at. In my city, it’s remarkably hard to get approval to build new rental housing. While most of the population agrees that we need more rental units, nobody wants to live

This is an excellent comment and I will agree that we really fucked the dog. I love how “fucked the dog” is the one bit of slang that Canadians can always use to identify each other online. All of this convinces me that we need more diversi

I think both would be correct, though your interpretation is more likely. They could use “fake = 1” to report the number of fake users. Or “fake != 1” to report the number of real users. I can’t imagine the gymnastics they would have to do

You’re looking at this purely through your own lens, but I choose to look at this in terms of society as a whole. We have young people parroting extremist points of view. That’s a societal failure. Where did our education and child care sys

No, but a winky smile after an intentionally inflammatory reply is usually indicative of someone I’m not interested in reading again. Doubly so when they refuse to use capital letters.

This sort of armchair quarterbacking is why many people won’t open source things. Instead of shitting on someone’s work, get involved and make changes. It’s easier and keeps people involved.

According to the article, the author no longer used this project. It was no longer front of mind. There is a massive difference between reviewing a PR when you are actively involved in a project and reviewing one when the project is in your

Some humans get to spend their lives hunting fish. The rest of us go to work because we have bills to pay. You have a very weak argument.

I used to publish and have some anecdata you may find encouraging. In my experience, if you’re thoughtful enough to wonder if you have something interesting to say, you likely do. Aside from that bit of data, there is one definite advantage
