Silly question, but could this be aided by simply reducing body fat down to extremely low levels?

I'm on a thinkpad x230t from over a decade ago, running Linux. It is a bit less vintage than yours, but I can confirm that for the princely sum of £200 on ebay, I can run a window manager and pretty much any software I want. It replace

The magazine goes in to more than that, solar/old tech stuff is included (I would think) because at this stage, disengaging from tech effectively excludes people from society. So I read it as meaning "within the boundaries of rema

Degrowth is an economic doctrine, not a way of life. One part of it is the idea that there is enough wealth to go round, even within planetary resource boundaries, and that distributing it is more important than growing it. It is a very ver

I don't use braille technology myself, but a couple of the best friends I've made online do. Tech like what your father worked on enabled them to participate in online discourse, and so enabled those friendships. I'll always

CO2 emissions are rising year on year, even as we approach the 1.5C mark (2031 or so) and hurtle towards 2C (2037 if memory serves). Even in countries where emissions per capita are dropping, not enough is being achieved. What's worse

My as-yet unlaunched solution to this is mutual.email - mutual, as in mutually owned. The idea is to have democratic, member led decision-making, while eventually farming out the technical work to a managed hosting provider, or staff. One o

One of the key things about attacks on RSS is that it shows the need to be a little more aggressive when writing FLOSS: specifically, relying on parsing the pages as they're presented to the end user, and RSS-ifying them. Twitter is a

We shouldn't be surprised when capital tries to eat its children. It'd probably be best if we all learned some agriculture and opted for simpler lives, rebuilt our social capital (aka community) and learned to do leisure like sane

Exactly the same thing here. Once some interloper with paper qualifications and no tech background rocks up and says "this is how agile works!" you're doomed. The only time I've ever seen this not happen was when we had

Not so. The UK, for instance, appears to treat these rulings as binding. This is why the UK conservatives want to scrap the Human Rights Act and replace it with a supposedly identical Bill of Rights, the key difference being a presumption t
