Locally or if for some reason you need to move off of Github and have to use Jenkins or some other CI tool.

I don't think that's what they're referring to. I think it's referring to the view in the browser. The email contents itself might still be html/rich text and/or plaintext but viewing in the browser, you have t

That situation is why I don't like about the software development process. YAGNI gets abused to go with the sloppy shortcut that only really saved maybe a day in creation but in reality wastes months worth of maintenance.

I've thought this for as long as I can remember. People overcomplicate the config file and try to make the one config file to rule them all. I like TOML, I started to look into using Hugo over Jekyll though and the TOML seems weirdly a

It seems like it has potential but I tried using it with a Shopify app I am building and for some reason it wasn't automatically creating the cloudflare tunnel in dev mode. Also, there's no verbose flag to show more detailed log m

Rails is great for building something fast with great tooling. Twitter started with Rails, IIRC, and eventually migrated to Scala. That's okay, that's what you do as you grow and see it cannot do what you need it to do. Laravel is

I get the desire for privacy and such but considering what GitHub is hosting, if you believe in something you sign your name to it. I don’t mean believe in GitHub but in the projects your keeping on GitHub. You can put your name out there w

> Laravel IDEA Is that a fork of IntelliJ or did they just usurp the “IDEA” branding from JetBrains? A framework-centric IDE seems silly. Like mini cupcakes.

Symfony and Laravel have their proper usages. I used to be Symfony snob too but tried Laravel and I definitely see its strengths. Laravel was not the right choice with our homegrown, non-framework app, with an existing schema.

It’s a fair point for this site though. Black background with grey text is kind of difficult to read. I assume the expectation is that I should be reading this in a cold dark basement with no outside light.

Seems cool. Seems a little like an open source version of Step Functions you only need python to run. I did a similar, rudimentary, version where I save the JSON in DynamoDB and the tasks indicate how to transform tabular (Excel, CSV) data.
