Like others said, the good advice here is mixed in with not-so-good advice and maybe even bad advice. I think if he stated his confidence on each point, I can calibrate my trust better. Otherwise, my impression is the author has not questio

Nah, I'm developer and also I don't like paying for things. If anything, the mind fallacy isn't the GP but on the commenters pretending that they love losing money. If we could pay $0 and get everything we want, we would. Eve

The assumption that author didn't talk to a woman sounds pretty knee-jerk to me. Can you explain what you mean? "On the rag" is a semi-common slang for menstruation, but "rag" has way more meanings than just menstru

I'm pretty skeptical of what Sinofsky says. Back in the day, former Microsoft employees called out the differences between what he said and what he did, i.e. "Don't ship the org chart" -> his own org ships the org cha

The GP commented once, politely disagreeing and describing their own experience. Looking over their past comments, I also don't see hostility to the ideals of memory safety or using Rust. Seems like you made a passive-aggressive presum

Internally, pretty messy, lots of burn out. Some of the big names they hired and the products they championed flamed out or became irrelevant. However, they still have decent numbers to show their investors.

Props to the author for writing up the results from his exercise. But I think he should focused on a few controversial ones, and not the rotes ones. Many of the decisions presented are not disagreeable (choosing slack) and some lack framing

I'd wager forced too. She didn't blog about this in https://blog.lizardwrangler.com/ . Given that the last 3 blogposts are about company changes, the lack of a post about this event smells of resentment.
