Wouldn’t that race against any other thread in the process? I guess you could stop all threads when you hit the breakpoint and start them again after you restore the breakpoint, but the synchronisation of that would be really tricky too.

If you revert the int 3 to the original instruction’s byte, when do you put it back? The breakpoint could still be active. In a trivial example, the breaking instruction could be a jump to itself, which you’d expect to immediately break int

Like others are saying, Leetcode is enough to get into a FAANG. The only place where having a CS degree would be important is if you want to move to a different country and the company would have to sponsor your visa. That said, FAANG seems

32-bit NaN is encoded: s111 1111 1xxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx Where both the sign (s) and the x bits can be anything and it will still be treated as a NaN. There are lots of ways to encode colour, but there would be too much red with RGBA,

Escape velocity energy from an orbit is sqrt(2) times the energy it takes to get to that orbit. But it’s more than ~41% more fuel, since you need more fuel to push the fuel, and more fuel than that to get it to orbit in the first place. Muc

I thought the biggest problem with Itanium was the fact that it was optimising the wrong thing; it maximised single thread performance by going all in on speculative execution, but it turns out that optimising joules per instruction is much

Text layout is just hard. There’s a lot of history you need to encode as rules, and you end up with a very complicated system that is hard to abstract because there are circular dependencies all over the place. This bug was because the size

Async/await allows you to be much more explicit about dependencies. I don’t care what thread executes something, but I do care that e.g. these three network requests happen in parallel. With async/await I can explicitly use an ‘aw

As someone who likes async/await/coroutines, I really miss them in Go. Channels are the GOTO of synchronisation, they lead to confusing spaghetti code because there is no structure. Go is really nice to read (once you get used to
