FYI, a voxel (volumetric-pixel) is a 3D rendering primitive which is a competitor of the polygon (yes there is other primitives like elipsoide[0]). A point cloud carrying whatever augmented information isn't in itself a voxel model. U

Almost all the graphics, audio, net, event, ui, system calls and data structures are generally tied to the low level frameworks without any level of virtualization. Add to that that each framework has its own standard and way of doing games
