The fact that all git operations are local (will except push, pull, fetch) and thus mistakes do not enter the (remote) repo so often, that’s really a great advantage. But what is the problem regarding merges?

The same thing could happen with any other form of concurrency. In this case you could wrap the two statements in a transaction with the appropriate isolation level. Not sure what it is called — read consistent? Snapshot?

The ls command does this: if output is to a tty then it prints in columns. Many commands add color when the output is a tty. I don’t think it would be a big issue.

Very interesting. I can change a breakpoint to not break, but log, instead. This should be quite interesting. Also the option to "go back in time" by dropping a frame from the callstack is very useful. This way, it's poss

At my job, we do Java, and it would be wonderful to have something like this. I litter System.err.println around the code then run it so I can better understand the behavior, so the idea of doing the equivalent in a recording would be awes

I think the argument for the American style is aesthetics. I don't like it, but I can understand that there are people who prefer what looks better. TFA did not address this at all, which is a pity.

Often, you might want to run servers. If they are JIT compiled, then during warm-up they will be slow(er), and later they will be fast(er). But usually you don't restart servers that often, so they will spend most of their time in &q
