Seems like IBM is trying to force workers back into the office if they live within 50 miles of one and hinting that others might also need to relocate. There are some long threads on r/IBM as well discussing it and it seems like no one

All cars? Man, I need to do something about that...but I never agreed to anything, though it may have saved my response since I am leasing the car.

Is their car connected? I have a 2022 Hyundai and all it does is tell me to drive safely but if you don’t respond it goes straight to CarPlay. I imagine you need to connect the car to Hyundais app for them to get data right?

I think the only thing I couldn't live without is evil mode. I'd install that right off the bat. I'm using doom but it feels like it's doing too much behind the scenes for my taste.

I feel like doing that with doom emacs. I'm not sure what is a feature or a package and it feels like a bunch of things are overlapping in terms of functionality.

You recommend using a framework like doom or building up your own config?

Couldn’t this just be that the software isn’t capable of handling the maximum setting since the graphics card drivers aren’t loaded yet? And of course windows and macOS boot up with more conservative display settings knowing this? Essential

People are getting used to it and it’s becoming the norm. That’s all this means. My wife is academically accomplished, knows how to unsubscribe from mailing lists but truly doesn’t care while it drives me crazy. People like my wife (desensi

I’m with you on proton. It’s totally hassle free and I’ve been using it for everything but call of duty and non-steam games (even though they should work with wine I think).

I think blast is for mapping sequences on existing genomes, which uses similar algorithms but applied for a different purpose.

I also love that all of their genomic tools are released as a virtualbox virtual machine and their entire site can basically be run locally with personal genomic data. I think it’s called genome in a box. And if I remember correctly BLAT wa

I'll let you know. My priorities as far as "difficult things i desperately need to do" include better note-taking (org mode/roam) and learning enough about AI to put it to use. VFIO is definitely a dream but with dual bo

That is my next goal right right after I master NixOS! The learning curve is steep for nix itself and I know vfio is no walk in the park. I want to make sure if I'm doing complicated stuff like that, I can at least roll things back to

I wonder if that has to do with anticheating mechanisms having to do a lot less work on a wine-based windows system than a full blown windows install.

I know medicaid exemptions or waivers aren't tied to parental income but are you saying they're tied to the individual's assets? That seems scary.

It’s easier to gather hundreds of people’s BMI for a study than it is to measure fat, which can also be misleading depending on the method used.

Arnie is also called an outlier. You don’t dismiss BMI just because. A doctor will factor that in before declaring a patient unhealthy. Otherwise, it works for most people and might be appropriate in large studies.
