Thanks for providing. Both the .webm and .mp4: "No video with supported format and MIME type found." Not a great UX, but certainly not worth anyone getting upset about, given FOSDEM is seemingly volunteer driven.

Very interesting indeed! Any idea why those projects (Scribe and LogDevice) were mothballed? Did Facebook simply lose interest in maintaining or did other OSS projects enter the mix that proved to be a better fit? Thanks again for sharing.

Fascinating. Why was a message bus necessary and what message bus and database (presumably open source) solutions did you use? Thanks for sharing the use case. Super clever solution.

I personally find this to be a rather poorly reasoned blog post. That being said, I'd welcome Arathorn's thoughts and perspective.

I'd have preferred that the OP simply share the Reuters [1] article directly, than linking to what strikes me as a second-rate, pedestrian personal site masquerading as an pseudo-official tech news blog. From the Reuters article [linke

Notwithstanding my affiliation is no one's business but my own (it's not a rule on HN), your claim is rather baseless: I read the article, directly cited it, and asked for a review to ensure something more consistent with reality.

Can anyone "in the know" objectively comment if Google Safe Browsing (GSB) has had a net positive result or outcome for the Internet, at large? Has GSB helped users, more than it has hurt them? The anti-Google rhetoric [on HN] is
