That dialog box is a linguistic nightmare. What's with the OK and Cancel buttons? I thought Windows was changing to "Save" and "Don't Save" like they should have done all along.

In Walt's review he says Safari has no tabs, but the iPad guide videos shows an Exposé style tab feature. Obviously he missed that bit.

I'm hoping Apple will deny it simply because I'm excited to see the huge quantity of whine that it will result in -flooding the tubes for weeks with it's open letters, Op Ed pieces and my favourite of all, the endless indignant blog posts.

So to what do you attribute minor fluctuations every other day of the year? Talk about confirmation bias.

To be fair everything that DOPi makes is nastily cheap Chinese garbage. I would want to sue for punitive damages if they were using ANY of the letters in my brand, let alone iPOD spelled backwards.

I actually have a faulty iPhone 2G with a damaged LCD/digitiser. Fortunately it has SSH and VNC enabled, so I wonder what server I could make out of an old iPhone. Talk about stealth ;) 400MHz ARM, 128MB RAM - surely I can do something with

All that waffling on and a mention of whether it's HTML5 compliant and whether it supports the <video> tag at least.

Adobe's excuse about not having a hardware acceleration API is a red herring, and a painfully obvious lie if you think about it for more than 5 seconds. There are several datapoints. This is clearly demonstrated when you play a video "nativ

I wonder what people will think once the first AppStore app gets approved by Apple but turns out to be a piece of malware. I'm sure Apple has indemnified themselves against liability in such a case Apple has stated that they have a kill s

Yes, they are protecting people from themselves. However it's not at all an altruistic gesture, it's purely self preservation. You're thinking in a geek/nerd mindset. The iPhone is a black box to most people - indistinguishable from magic.

Not only "not sanctioned" by Apple, but actively opposed by them. They go out of their way to stop jailbreakers and consider them criminals, and per the DMCA they're probably right. It will be terrible for future innovation if the only way

I don't see how it's anything other than a net positive, you gain in security and ease of use for consumers. If you're more hacker minded like this audience is, it's extremely trivial to jailbreak - the distinction being that it is totally

Hard drives have two extremely powerful neodymium magnets in them anyway, attached to the arm which moves back and forth. Millimetres from your platters. I have a hunch that a fairly steady magnetic field is probably fine, it's erratic/alte
