Their website said you still need a doctor's note. It would be nice to avoid that in the future, I'd get cheap tests done all the time just out of curiosity.

Are there any games made to help software developers improve their design or intuitive skills? Maybe something where you have to minimize dependencies or visualize program flow, or apply known design patterns to solve problems... I'm e

I don't think I do, I'm just going off what was written in the article. But I have also had simple jobs that could be automated with the right tools. Even software developers have to constantly stay on top of tools that automate t

The hardest part I noticed while reading was automating empathy and helping someone calm down when they are stressed out. The rest of her job could be done with better maps and UI design.

It's a step toward the right solution to this problem. At least people won't be bumping into each other all the time... I'm pretty sure this phenomenon will get worse before it gets better, but eventually our online presences

I like this a lot! The research manuscript example is exciting. It would be great if authors could link directly to the part of a paper that they are citing and be able to open that up if you want to dive deeper. Linking methods to results

Individual odds of being in an accident may be lower than the average. Software for all of the cars would be approximately the same, so the chances of being in an accident could increase for extremely cautious drivers. I doubt they would, p

I am also more socially isolated than most, and I don't feel the emotion of loneliness very often, but I definitely become distrustful and more withdrawn as the article described when I spend more time isolated. I didn't even conn

I haven't had too many issues with Google guessing what I mean but the sites that scrape other sites are a real pain. find the oldest page with that text and show it to me, then exclude the rest from the results. Or something like that

That could go the other way too - if they don't hire people based on their GPA they might be weeding out bad developers even if they did well in school.

I agree that depression can be caused by many things. This might be more of a case of chronic depression vs. temporary depression, although I don't presume to know which one the author was/is dealing with. People bounce back from

I think the author is saying that there isn't much difference on a relative scale. For example, humans typically weigh between 100 and 300 lbs and have a certain range of strength (say, deadlifting between 50 and 1000 lbs). Compare tha
