After 8 years on macOS, I was forced into developing on Windows back in 2015 when I was making a VR game. WSL1 hit at exactly that time and once I suffered through setting up the environment on ConEmu (Windows Terminal nowadays is wonderfu

Yea this. Now conceivably such a sci-fi suit might have a non-Newtonian reaction to a bullet impact and automatically spread the force over a wider area in a somehow non-destructive way.

I did two sessions of psychedelic IM Ketamine four months ago. The place I went requires a therapist sitter during the experience, followed by an hour of integration therapy, and a few days after the final session a follow up integration. I

You’re off about the major problem with Section 174 — money is being taxed *before* expenses, and there is no “out” because software has been labeled fully R&D back in 2017 (of course the republicans carved an out for oil, mineral, and

Seems like a gigantic increase in the context window would be a great next step. GPT-4 is so damned good I tend to only become disappointed when it is forced to forget history.

As far as I’m aware it will definitely forget things as the history grows. You can “remind” it about things to keep them relevant, and I think a cool product built like OP’s project would take that into consideration for long running tasks.

Second point is a great call out. I used to keep shoveling caffeine when I was younger and ended up having huge sleep problems (surprise) and a 26+ circadian rhythm. I’d quit for a month, then be back on it. Eventually I figured out that a

Our game’s Windows build ran basically out of the box. The only failure point was that Unity’s TextMeshPro input fields didn’t trigger the Steam Deck native keyboard UI. Took a little hacking on it, but easy enough. The Steam Deck version o

I threw a challenging rendering problem at it and I was pretty impressed with the overall structure and implementation. But as I looked deeper, the flaws became apparent. It simply made up APIs that didn’t exist, and when prompted to fix it

Yea agreed. The moment I need to do anything complicated I start getting this gut feeling I’d be better off just writing a quick Go cli tool.

Unfortunately the guard rails of the current systems prevent, in my opinion, interesting antagonists in fiction or games. I’ve experimented with some writing and when you can convince ChatGPT to give you some examples of negative behavior i

It's a toy language with almost zero open source library support. And trying to hire someone to work in it and implicitly agree that they don't care about their CV and future hireability is a tough sell.

I’d highly recommend a Ubiquity Dream Machine Pro if you have any advanced use cases. I’ve got mine VPN bridged to my office router and it’s been convenient to be able to force some devices at home to have all traffic routed over that link.
