You could claim you gave someone a contract and they didn’t sign it, so now they owe u a million bucks

IANAL but isn’t it illegal to execute something in the event of a document not being signed?

That’s allegedly the case in iOS (not the provable part, but I wonder if anyone managed to disprove it yet?)

what's wrong w/ Rails on M chips? I don't recall having had much trouble with it (except w/ nokogiri bindings right when the M1 was first available, but that's a given for any new release of OSX)

I don’t know a single engineer who had issues with M chips, and most engineers I know (me included) benefited considerably from the performance gains, so perhaps your niche isn’t that universal?

they seem to have pivoted overnight into the LLM hype? All I can recall from Humane's past marketing was all about the weird laser projector as a replacement to your phone, never about it being a chatgpt-in-a-box (which is all they tal

What’s your thoughts on copyright and how holders might react in a system like that? My understanding of the music industry is the incumbents are VERY lawsuit happy, and plagiarism laws are substantially more reaching than with image or vid

You have a CV, three rounds of notes, usually a linkedin profile, and you’re arrogant enough to dismiss people because they had to put up a crappy cover letter to get past your stupid ATS, and you still don’t see how shameful your behavio

most companies are using AI to filter out CVs these days, and cover letters written with ChatGPT seem to have a higher success ratio. I wouldn't blame anyone for using it, unfortunately.

I think openai/anthropic/etc are banking on foundation models being the equivalent of the "datacenters" or AWS-equivalents of AI - there'll be PaaSes (eg replicate), and most businesses will just pay the "rent&

Only if you're creating a foundation model. The equivalent would be competing with a well-funded Amazon, back in 1999. You can compete in building LLM-powered products with much, much less money - less than a regular web app in 99

I’m not sure we went through the same dot-com era, but in my experience, it was extremely expensive to spin up anything. You’d have to run your own servers, buy your own T1 lines, develop with rudimentary cgi… it was a very expensive mess -

Couldn’t u just enqueue + change a status, then check before firing? I don’t see why you’d need more than a dumb queue and a db table for that, unless you’re doing millions of qps
