Any fellow hackers here that import goods from China? If so, care to share your experiences?

You can just share the link. Also, the "multiple recipient" feature is nearly there.

We currently have about 3000 users and process way more than 20000 reports every month. So this shouldn't be a problem, although it depends on the size of your network ;) Let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions.

It would be interesting to know from where you are purchasing the goods (if they are not self-made). Do you get them directly from the manufacturer or do some of you have experience with importing stuff from China/etc.?

I don't want to try this since I fear to use up my win-a-lot-of-money-in-the-lottery-once chance.

But how can you help people to get out of this 'learned helplessness'?

Don't know if this relates directly to the question about scalability, but the main site is not loading for me, nor is the demo site. It looks like the tracking script hosted on demo.piwik.org is slowing the main site down.

Thanks for the feedback. The email-only option is definitely on our list, it will be a bit tricky due to the different mail clients but still doable.

You could also (theoretically, haven't tested it all): - watch Hulu, when you're not in the US - use Spotify when you are in the US (and you use a UK box for example) - bypass your university firewall - in general secure your connection in

My personal favourite: - Get a cheap development box (Linode, Slicehost, etc.) - Set Firefox to use Socks Host 127.0.0.1:8080 - Open up your terminal and enter this: ssh -C2qTnN -D 8080 your-user@example.com Et voilà, you're tunneling all y

Shameless self-advertising: You may want to have a look at www.getmetricmail.com (recently also here on HN). We are still in beta but we might offer what you're looking for. If not now, then in the future.

I would be interested in finding out why you guys actually take this stuff. Do you need it due to medical need or because of something else?

If there is enough demand for something like this, we would definitely implement it. In general, every tool that provides an API can be integrated.
