Actually, eventual consistency for their messaging product makes a ton of sense, because any changes to states are a "push", so any "eventual consistency" is just messaging latency/propagation delay. That aside, you don't appear to be famil

Because it's Fabrice Bellard. Look at his ouerve, he doesn't bother integrating any of his projects into anything else, or put more charitably, dance to the politics of other peoples' projects. I don't blame him. Contributing to GNU project

It's probably due to most browser rendering engines not being tuned to handle that kind of resolution.

It's pretty normal these days to rely on GCC varargs. Among my people (the unix tribe), few care if Microsoft will ever support C99 or anything else for that matter. You can use a macro to swap between varargs/stdarg.h if you want to be abl

I'd say that the lack of apparent concern regarding something as core and critical as auth is enough for me to write the whole team off permanently. I'll never use anything made by people so careless yet so self-aggrandizing about their own

As someone who's tried (and failed) to learn Rust in the past: I'm going to elide any commentary about the syntax for now, as I know why it is the way it is (the type system/annotations). I'm basically just going to expound on one thing for

I was giving it the benefit of the doubt since there wasn't as much platform specific lock-in as GAE. But yeah, the single-homing is pants-on-head.

The persistence scaling story for Heroku seems pretty questionable to me. Once you've maxed out what they offer for MySQL and Postgres, what exactly are you supposed to do? Start using EC2 RDS? Heroku seems to be like a more useful Google A

Incapsulating, in this context, isn't a word. You want encapsulate. Encapsulation. Encapsulating. The "en" prefix means put into or on something. You're saying you're putting something into a capsule or "isolating it". The "in" prefix in En

How quick exactly? I've been testing ElasticSearch's geo location search and most queries take 50-150ms. Standard term searches and filters will take like 5ms, with id GETs taking mere fractions of that still.
