To be honest, it would be awesome if the title could be change from "Methane may not warm the Earth quite as much as previously thought" to "Methane is 20x worse than CO2 instead of 28x worse".

It will not affect vegan arguments, it's still true that CH4 is a 20x worse GHG than CO2.

Yes. It doesn't change anything to the problem. But lots of people will say it does (the climate deniers).

I would love to see an open-source and open-hardware project for an ASV... Moreover it could easily be coupled with the sensors and soft required to work as a sleep analyzer, in order to help diagnose central apnea vs obstructive apnea, etc

It would be interesting to find out the root cause of this central apnea. Maybe that's the only risk of short-circuiting the medical establishment, that now the author is satisfied with the solution he found for the central apnea which

It struck me that all of the battery big "white boxes" of the Victorian Big Battery are gathered at the same facility. Shouldn't they be spread over a larger area, even possibly over several towns? Else, it looks like very vu

Wait before your hear the harrowing laments of the rocks cracking in the cold. /s No, more seriously, stop giving an emotional meaning to a sound .

Yes, and moreover both countries have a strong and historical ICE automotive industry... Which can explain a large part of the conservatism in this domain.

Which country? I'm in Japan, and the cult of noisy cars/motorbikes here is both disgusting and hopeless (given the planned disappearance of ICE vehicles), but very ingrained (among both middle-aged and young men). Moreover it'

Tyres noises are not what spikes my blood pressure in the middle of the night. Those are engine/tailpipe noises.

On the Framework laptop 13, the 3.5mm jack is built-in (not an expansion card).

Many other big companies do that, unfortunately.

The second link seems pretty cool, and cheap!! Have you experience playing with it? In particular, I wonder how usable it is with e.g. a Linux laptop. It looks like the device uses a I2C interface.

The difference is that blue whales are social animals, living in groups (whereas T-Rexes were probably solo hunters), and also that the living zone of blue whales are a large fraction of Earth oceans (whereas the article you mentionned appl

There is no NO2 sensor in the BOM.

I don't think the blue whales are "mostly extinct". Per their Wikipedia article, they are "endangered".

They mentioned a NO2 sensor in the article, but then I don't see it in the BOM. Was it only used for the calibration? If so, that would be a shame, as I am precisely looking for an inexpensive but reliable NO2 sensor device.

Or, maybe an increasing number of people have suffered from brain fog caused by long covid, and that would make them feel like their Adderall is not working?

Yes, that's what I immediately thought too. Like a small stroke. It can also be some cognitive effect from a latent condition like MS. Or any other neurological problem, really. To put the blame on the meditation is a bit quick, in my

How hard could it be to spin an anonymous fork though.

If it's really just a "hardcoded whitelist" that causes trouble, said fork would truly be easy to maintain.

All the examples of bad interactions are from Cruise, not Waymo. So maybe restrict Cruise? Or allow expansion only for companies that show excellency? In my opinion that would be a shame to prevent good implementations from being used becau

Let's hope that it will be amended precisely in order to let open source projects (and their users) live. And if you are a EU citizen, please contact your MEP about it. It's not voted yet. It's still time.

I've been living in Tokyo for many years, and this article is completely spot on. And no it is not "the same in many other countries" like some HN comments would like you to believe.
