Obviously this is still an early proposal that might not go anywhere, but I find it interesting to see how more and more functional programming constructs are creeping into Java. Who knows if this makes it in, next they make exceptions resu

Interestingly I'm in the US and got it in Dutch. And yes, the translation is indeed atrocious.

Right, that's the point exactly. The company was clearly playing it fast and loose and not interested in understanding how their design behaved or how the material degraded.

I feel like everyone either misunderstands your point or is deliberately misrepresenting it. It might very well be that composites turn out to be a viable material for deep submersibles. The fact that OceanGate managed multiple dives to the

You recall that incorrectly :) The NeXT purchase came first, Jobs as CEO came after that. But yeah, it was a bit of a reverse takeover in a way.

Coincidentally, I just watched this documentary yesterday on the Apple Lisa [1]. Or maybe OP watched the same. In any case, it heavily features Sun Remarketing, so people might find it interesting as well. [1] https://www.youtube

Exactly. It's always weird when current infrastructure gets brought up as an objection against new technology (EVs, clean energy transition etc.). As if it's some unchangeable law of nature. It makes me wonder if, during the indus

Ah great, thanks! It would be great to see a larger example on your site to see how this all ties together. For example, I don't really understand what's stopping anyone from opening dev console and just calling my 'onlogin&#

First off, congratulations on launching! I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted, because it seems quite relevant to the discussion. I'll definitely look at btn.social for my next hobby project. The pricing is super reasona

In that case that would be a disclosure. A disclaimer warns the reader that they might not know what they're talking about, which is the opposite of what's intended here.

You might want to make it clearer that this is a literal quote from the last paragraph of the article. Are you posting this because you agree/disagree?

I had read about it as a kid and knew it existed, so it was a delight when I drove by it a few years ago on my way to Mount Whitney. "Hey, I know about this place!"

On the contrary, they did try the artificial scarcity thing with G+, but unlike Gmail, a social network isn't really useful if your friends aren't on it.

IANAL but it seems that if you rely on looking at the suspect piece of code to see what it's doing (even if done by an LLM), it's not exactly clean room.

I really love the idea of htmx and will definitely use it for my next hobby project. Out of curiosity, does htmx only work for always online apps or could you build a PWA with offline capability with it as well?

In the starnix design doc [1] they mention the similarity to WSL1. There they mention the reason for abandoning WSL1 for WSL2 was due to poor performance characteristics of NTFS and that for starnix they need to make sure the filesystem is
