Actually, my understanding is that Everest base camp is pretty clean, since they started requiring climbers to bring back trash in the 90s. I think it's mainly the higher up camps that have big garbage (and human waste) problems.

I wonder how this relates to Soundscript which was on the frontpage yesterday. They seem to have similar goals and both are based on Typescript, so they seem to overlap a lot.

Completely agreed. Most of China's growth has been from moving people from agriculture to manufacturing. Essentially activating its giant labor force to compete on price. This has lifted millions of people out of poverty. However, it&#

Completely agree. I know the regime in North Korea is crazy, but I really don't see them caring about this at all. On the other hand, they're often the butt of jokes in the west. Just look at all the "you've been banned

Out of interest: why is it this way? In a lot of other languages (e.g. Java or Python), you don't need to do this. Can't the compiler just figure out that a function refers to another function that's defined later in the same

Yeah I agree. The article was actually good and calls out very reasonable criticisms against current climate science. However the headline makes it seem the debate on whether humans influence the climate isn't settled.
