I agree. A natural monopoly doesn’t make sense to be private in any circumstance. Thames Water is like the poster child for people who say anything government run is inherently bad because only the free market can optimize it and make it p

Unsurprising that Thames Water wants more money considering their financial situation. The state of their infrastructure is wretched. The fact they saved themself from forced nationalization is depressing as well. It’s pretty nakedly obviou

I’d be a lot surprised if Firefox dethroned chrome or Bing became the dominant search engine. The only circumstance where I wouldn’t be surprised would involve regulatory action I see as an outside chance.

I’ve been knee deep in everything people flush down a toilet and more fixing a broke sewage lift station. I deal with human bodily fluids in my work all the time, as do many women in the same field (medical) Shit and piss and puke and pus.

Yes. It’s a combination of those factors for sure. There are just so many more constant disk hits from 8 and on, and a good deal of them are from Defender. I do PC service and repair on the side and tossing in a cheap SSD makes most people

The AV stuff is huge. It’s always why windows Windows 8 era PCs were maybe the most brutally slow. SSDs mitigate those issues but it is so painful to run things on mechanical drives, a lot of which is down to the antivirus processes. The pr

I’m going to have to strongly disagree with the idea that Microsoft isn’t creating real value to players. Gamepass is literally the best deal for someone playing video games, full stop. The price may get jacked up in the future but right no

Not an entirely honest appraisal of the dismantling of US manufacturing in the 80s. Big corporations didn’t reluctantly close down factories, hat in hand, because people weren’t buying their products. They moved the manufacturing offshores

To be fair it’s not a good comparison. An F1 car is , all things considered, an incredibly safe place to be in. Certainly safer than your average road car in most circumstances.

100K a year for a child (And possibly an additional dependent, not sure if you’ve already got the other half or want it) is a hell of a lot more than most people have for an entire family. If you’re really able to just hold on to that money

I think the FOMO and enhanced hyper consumerism it enables contributes, but the actual macroeconomic factors around wage growth, etc. are the real problem.

I understand the point though. Living paycheck to paycheck making 250K is either a gross mismanagement of finances, or a dishonest view of them. The guy making 250K a year isn’t worried about not being able to put food on the table. But may

It’s so often a services problem. I honestly probably wouldn’t pay if it weren’t a family shared account, but my parents use it and they don’t know or care about the video quality like that. I also just prefer the video player of my choice.
