That's the fun part. It's just HTML attributes, so you can test them without a full browser and JS engine. Just parse the HTML. Tests are super fast and never flaky.

I pay $480/mo for a CA-based HOA and receive very few services. A large chunk of that money goes toward insurance and maintenance. You start seeing real services (pool, etc.) at $1500+/mo.

I have the Shure MV7, and I've been extremely impressed with it over USB. Highly recommend it as an entry point to (semi-)professional audio equipment.

I also have no autocomplete. I don't want the distractions/popups when writing code and getting into deep focus. When I want to autocomplete a long name, I trigger it by hand using Ctrl+p.

I turned it off as an experiment ~10 years ago and haven't needed it since. Like the author, it was jarring at first, but then I grew to prefer it. I still highlight trailing spaces in bright red, but otherwise it's (nearly) white

This is likely my last iPhone. Apple’s behavior in opposing their own customers is unacceptable. I’ll switch to a Pixel running GrapheneOS, where I can run “real Firefox” and any other software I choose.

Not GP, but I also have a Framework 13 AMD and a MacBook Pro M2 for work. The battery life of the Framework is worse, but I still easily get 9+ hours with it. To me that’s plenty, so battery isn’t even something I think about anymore.

Clearly the recent 1.8B Euro fine the EU levied against Apple didn't send a message. Perhaps the EU needs to ratchet it up by an order of magnitude.

It isn’t, sadly, but the logic is straightforward. Have a set of IPs you target, iterate with your deploy script targeting each, check health before continuing. If anything doesn’t work (e.g. health check fails), stop the deploy to debug. T

I ran such a system in prod over 7 years with >5-9s uptime, multiple deploys per day, and millions of users interacting with it. Our deploy scripts were ~10 line shell scripts, and any more complex logic (e.g. batching, parallelization,

You can achieve this without k8s, though. If your goal is, "I want zero-downtime deploys," that alone is not sufficient reason to reach for something as massively complex as k8s. Set up a reverse proxy and do blue-green deploys be

I have a Framework 13 AMD. Everything works great on Linux (even the fingerprint reader)—-I’m extremely happy with it. The keyboard is good, the speakers are good (with EasyEffects), the screen has a perfect 3:2 ratio, the battery is great,

I installed plasma6 on my Framework 13 running NixOS this morning, and it was the first time in my life that not only did fractional scaling work out-of-the-box, but it automatically picked the appropriate scale! Love when the little things

I just installed plasma6 on nixos (using Wayland) and it automatically picked an appropriate fractional scaling for my resolution (150%), and everything works and feels great. No configuration needed.

I think the parent is simply pointing out that “Typescript’s types are not sound.” That is, the types at runtime may not be what you assumed at compile-time. This happens very often at API boundaries because fetch returns `any`. Many langua

I signed up, and Mozilla warns it takes 7-14 days for data on most of these sites to be removed. They must need to do a lot of things by hand. This would also explain why you get 1 scan per month.

I think it’s fair to say that knowing what allocates in Go requires in-depth knowledge of its internals, well beyond the `defer` example. Every possible allocation is not obvious to the typical Go programmer. It is obvious in Zig.

The optimal architecture for a 1-user self-hosted project is very different than something built to serve 100k people, which is very different from a company serving 10M, and again for 5B. Do you shard and partition the DB? Do you introduce
