I do not like the crease and the larger foldables do not entice me bit I got work to let me get a zflip4 as a replacement and I have liked it way more than I expected. It is a good form factor. Fits in my work shirt pocket. I do industrial

You arent alone. I despise variable refresh. I cant even stand VFR videos on top of VRR displays. But my eyes are extremely sensitive to various things that almost everyone I know either cant perceive or have to focus really hard to notice.

I used a NeXTstation Turbo Color through 2010 and ran a myriad of windows all day everyday. I have no idea what that parent poster is talking about. This was a 33mhz 040 with 128mb of ram and NS3.3 and OS4.2.

Ternary based computers are far from a rumor. They are flipping cool tbh. I wish more was done with the idea. Balanced ternary is beautiful.

Foucault's Pendulum is so much better than any schlock Brown dumps out. ++ for mentionin it. Eco is one of my favorites. Brown also gets facts wrong in his books. Which is irritating.

Alto was the /popularization/ of bitmapped displays (In the public mind). Other examples predate it such as the PLATO computer system.

Everyone going on about "no one runs at that resolution! Stupid comparison!" Are missing the point. The point is that a properly designed UI will adjust to the resolution in use. And this doesnt just mean monitor resolution when r

I live in Alabama and I cannot imagine places that you can happily exist in without AC. It routinely hits 37-40C here during the summer /and/ 80%+ humidity. A week ago it was ambient temp 39C with a Heat Index of 45C. I hadn'

I use an massively overbuilt i9-13900K tower everyday and a laptop on the go. I remote into the pc when I need major grunt. I do know a ton of people who live out of a laptop tho. I can sorta see the appeal depending but the lack of display

I had a preFCC certification BeBox. It had the dual 66mhz PPC 603 chips. Lemme tell ya: the dual 66 was NOT a quick computer lol. Maybe earlier than R5 BeOS was on it but by R5 it was a dog. The dual 133 faired better. The biggest issue was

It's an EV. It's dead simple to "go fast" with one. Sustaining that speed is something they have issues with. Whatever floats your boat, but I find the interior of tesla's incredible bland and boring. Stale "fu

Oh god. I hate that Apple helped stick this BS in people's heads. The human eye can resolve way, way past 220PPI. Even at distance. I'm sitting here typing on a surface book with a 13" panel that is 267PPI and I would adore i

TBF, I was kind of a dick in the one that blew up but not insanely. It was mostly a really political/social topic. So I did the cardinal sin of responding to that sort of topic :) But.. yeah. Live and learn I guess. It still bothers me
