Solid advice. Split the problem into many smaller problems and start working. One thing to keep in mind though, TODO lists can give an illusion of progress and accomplishment[1]. That is assuming you split up the problem and create a TODO l

I use Symfony 2 a lot myself and more recently Laravel 4. While they are definitely solid frameworks I find that the Java-esque level for abstraction in the code base makes debugging a big pain at times. Especially in Laravel 4 which is mos

Sure but the HKSAR are not known for doing any hacking and this was between the HKSAR and the USA.

It's the HKSAR government, not the Chinese government (NPC). It's important to note that they are quite different.

Perhaps rather than criticizing the demo negatively, which I see no reason to do, he/she could rather have initiated a discussion about where things like this belong in modern web development. Is this use of JavaScript just going to be

Thanks for the feedback. My US geography isn't great. I've fixed it in the charts and spreadsheet and will keep note of it if I ever do this again.

Sorry about that. I should have added some auto scaling. I just made them big so they are clear but without realizing the lack of a horizontal scroll bar.

Is it acceptable for a web developer to not be competent all parts of the stack nowadays? Be competent in all parts and specialize in some areas. Also, are points 6 and 7 really a part of the "full stack"?

I have only just started learning the details of JavaScript. While reading JavaScript: The Good Parts I found myself asking the question what the difference between a module and a closure is. As far as I can tell they are the same thing. Is

I'd be curious to see any large Angularjs apps. Do you know any? How big should single page apps be allowed to be? Is there a clear use case for this to be sensible? This is not a loaded question in case you or someone mistakes it for such.

We used Symfony 2 on projects previously. I find that it makes simple things hard to do and it is too verbose. Laravel 4 uses many of the Symfony 2 components but makes nice facades that you can call as static methods so you never have to w

The "cool kids" in PHP are using Laravel 4. It's a well made framework. I'm doing a REST API in it at work and the lack of mind share and docs is probably the worst part about it (it's still in beta to be fair). Most of the time I ended up
