For 2023, I'll be trying to become proficient in Rust. Ported about half my AOC code over, and don't feel like an absolute chucklehead at this point. The stable diffusion is really the first time I've used a GPU as compute, a

I had someone do that to me in one of the later phases of an interview process. They were doing some physiological testing after the technical part - and the person kept diving into areas they should not have been asking about. I've

Funny enough - reboots are becoming a thing with Windows 10/11. I really dislike the way my Windows box now patches and reboots when it feels like it. Without fail, I'll have wherever I had my workflow paused for the night... ju

I suspect I'm your biggest GHAS customer :) Rolled out GHAS to over 125k repos this year. Have Tayler (z...) connect you with my details, if you wanted to chat.

We use this at our company. Wildly successful at finding tokens for most of the usual suspects. If they are including secret blocking - it will prevent someone from doing the dumb as well. One question/behavior - if the secret scanne

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliances has a significant community with FA Forever. ( https://www.faforever.com/ ) It reworked all the stock solo missions with updated units and co-op. There are survival modes, phantom modes.

Similar plan. Using this to learn Rust - and hope to make it to day 10 or so, before falling back to my daily driver languages.

Haha. Rewinding back to my university days, I had picked up what I thought was a very nice bottle of Beaujolais. I put it above my fridge... and fast forward, opened it with my Bride of 20 years. Pure vinegar. I suspect that bottle had

Ah man. The dealerships do not appreciate a large bag of cash. I found a car that I wanted and got a cashiers check for it at my local bank. They wanted what I considered an outrageous amount of fees (like $8) to do it. So... I asked fo

Yes to both, with the assumption a unpowered landing is not a better option. The straps are part of the air frame - so the parachute more or less turns this into something disposable. Spin recovery is tricky enough I don't believe th

On the corp side, the bump is enough that this becomes problematic. Going from $650 to $780 for that first year is going to cause all sorts of "but what about free" conversations next week. Argh.

The more I've worked with sqlite, the more I've been impressed. Spins up as a file that can be put in source control. Supports SQL - all the basic stuff one might try to pull off with a small MySQL instance. The main gotcha is

It was useful for more than that. We built most of our COM components in C++. As we started prototyping COM components in VB... and discovered they were only about 5% slower and very easy to crank out. It was a heretical discovery kept v
