Someone sold them a bill of goods about 'hotel' type desks. These things are a three foot cattle stall, not even a wall around it. Nothing permanent about the work space. I can get a 32G mac just ordering it at work. A desktop.

I'm really excited with the prospect of a a fast, multi core chip that does not throttle on a laptop. That G14 that everyone seems to be doing the initial review with shows really nice single and multicore performance with a small the

We really had to spend time convincing my older in-laws that such large gatherings were a really bad idea. A couple days later, their church did the same thing most sport and music events did - online only. I can't image an organizat

The 'house by house' bit with the national guard is disturbing. I'd be concerned with someone pitching girl scout cookies door to door, much less something like this. As folks are getting back from spring breaks... I suspect

Yah... When you try to use the on line form, $150 today if it was booked in January or earlier. I've not had much success getting through on the phone yet. Still have a few weeks to sort it.

Oracle calls the 6 month releases a 'major' version.. .but many corporate shops only care about the LTS versions (mostly 8 or 11) which are getting 90 day 'minor' patches. Java 11.0.6 is current till mid April, in which

I believe copper will kill off this one in about 4-5 hours, compared to the 10+ hours of other materials. Not super useful as a hand sanitizer, but nice to know a copper door handle has a nice longer term self cleaning over shorter time fr

Java 7, 8, and 11 are the Long Term Release (LTS) versions, that are getting patched every 90 days. Support to 2025'ish for them. With 9+, all the other versions get a 6 month life span, with new features in each and heavy deprecatio

We use several branching strategies - all depends on the size of the codebase and the number of teams involved. Some work just fine with a trunk based workflow, some need that extra bit of layers. What I don't get is the infatuation w

Not a Rust guy, but I did have to look up WTF-8. Had to chuckle at the 'wobbly transformation format' as I was translating it something else. :)

Not sure about high performance mice, but Amazon does have some USB-C mice. I picked up for my daughter to play Stardew Valley on her mac. Was looking to avoid the daisy chain of adapters rather than a high sampling rate. https:/

To be fair, prior to the 1500 hour rule, the insurance companies dictated how many hours were the minimum. I'm not sure I knew anyone who could get into an "ATP" class (what is that, 10+ passenger?) aircraft with less than 8
