The M series is a continuation of the A series development that's been going since 2008 when they bought PA Semi, maybe earlier. The M1 could have been branded the A14X but for whatever reason they chose not to, probably to make better

I don't think Google factors into this plan anywhere. The endpoint is iOS devices able to build iOS apps with full fidelity using Xcode for iPad, not a web based IDE. Total control for Apple.

They've built pieces of that already: https://developer.apple.com/xcode-cloud/ I'm not personally very excited about living inside that sealed of a bubble.

It's a hard sell with modern CPUs getting so much faster. At a previous company most of our office build & test machines were refurb HP Z620 or Z640s from a reseller called TekBoost (no relationship). Worked great back then. It mig

TLDR is the M2 13" Pro is about 10% faster than the M1 13" Pro in his testing. Wait, then what's the problem? It has a poorly configured thermal management leading to oscillating power/temperature. It's pretty slopp

I was curious ratios, almonds are more dense but it's not a clear win by water usage. Almonds are about 2x the calories and protein per weight, 10x niacin, 24x vitamin E, but then even or less on things like zinc or folate. TIL.

I ran NT4 on my laptop in the late 90s and remember it was somewhat unusual. A little clunky, my memory is some common things like changing screen resolution required a reboot, but it was more reliable and responsive overall. Most people st

It makes a little more sense knowing that A/UX install media was hard to find for a long time, until recently (2021?) there were no compatible emulators, and a lot of the real hardware is probably too slow to run Doom or has too little

No, and I'm not convinced this is even a good idea. As a society we are having trouble coordinating around reasoned responses to much of anything. Perhaps we have passed the point where human decision-making is a good idea and instead
