I developed a couple of tools on top of git for various reasons. The problem I found is that many many developers don’t understand how git actually works, so they can’t translate git and what it actually does. I have to explain how git work

How do I know that some code is beautiful? And how will one know that it will always stay beautiful? Correct and efficient is one thing. Beautiful? This is off topic but topics like this grinds my gears as it’s purely subjective.

I’m a happy user of Linux desktop, Ubuntu. I will never go back to anything else than some other version of Linux. I can’t stand OS X anymore. I can’t even remember when I used windows the last time. I must be an idiot.

I’m much older than you, and I don’t feel any of what you are describing. I’m taking on harder and harder problems, and in fact I believe I’m improving. I’m doing all R&D for my dept as none of my colleagues do/want or can do this.

I feel like it’s the opposite. You are losing touch with the critics. As today there are so many and you are not as “faithful” towards one source anymore. You are getting reviews from all sorts of sources, good and bad.

Even this platform there are policies on what to do/write and how to behave. Up/downvoting is a way of policy management.

AFAIK the pilots decides who are eligible to get on a flight or not. So I guess they can say that they don’t want to have people with a prior history on their plane. The pilots are responsible for the flights safety.

I loathe the “clean code” discussions. It’s highly subjective and unmeasurable. I want along and wrote some code which was highly test driven, because why not, and at code review this guy said that it wasn’t readable, eg clean enough, and n

I think that many people forget that version control is part of your delivery pipeline, not just a way to “store and move code”. I think there are possibilities to use the version control tools to much more than just that. GitOps touches th
