I find your story very interesting, because it's a pattern I've heard several times before: someone who does not want to get vaccinated because of the risk of side effects, but is willing to expose themselves, to a greater degree

I'm confused about the argument regarding the sprinkler system. I can understand water sprinkler being a dangerous combination with a battery fire. But for a gasoline powered car, isn't a fire likely to be a flammable liquid fire,

The part about banning non-compete agreements is promising, but I would suggest that anyone in Ontario check very carefully before assuming this applies to them. Ontario has previously exempted large classes of people from certain employmen

Thanks for adding the original research. I'm also not an epidemiologist, but I can think of at least one disease where the advice "catch it when you're young and you'll have stronger immunity" has a serious downside

Serious question: if you're not an epidemiologist, why do you tell people this? Do you have some research you can link to that actually supports your assertion?

The UK's carriers are "ski-jump" type, with no catapult. But for either type, the engine will typically be "run up" to full power before the aircraft starts moving.

World leaders have some level of police protection. Which also has a second order effect - if you're serious about an attack, you need to do some planning. And that planning often comes to the attention of the police.

This is why I suspect such an attempt would require going via the courts. You would say to the bank "I have unilaterally renounced my citizenship", the bank would not accept it, and you would be asking the court to order the bank

Germany is such a country. However, as part of granting you citizenship they do a search for other countries that you have citizenship of. I believe they will not grant you German citizenship until you have relinquished your other citizensh

I expect there is such a treaty, but presumably it specifies that the Netherlands will have certain obligations regarding US citizens that reside in the Netherlands. I doubt it will be specific on who actually is a US citizen. Further, yo

I have a question about this, that I've never been able to find a good answer to: what happens if you unilaterally renounce US citizenship? Consider the situation: you're a dual US / Dutch citizen. You want to avoid paying US

Yeh. It would be more accurate to say something like this: A retail trader will usually be trading with some sort of market maker. That market maker will also trade with informed traders, and sets their bid-offer spread accordingly to offse

The 13th amendment does in fact outlaw "slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime". I agree with your sentiment that the current prison system is a major problem.

If I understand correctly, the answer is "they probably did need to, but didn't bother". You'll sometimes see articles say "these states have legalized marijuana, but it remains illegal at the federal level". I

Oh I 100% agree with you. But imagine you're the government of a country that is struggling to provide heating over the winter. It would be very tempting to think "Hmm, we could recommission that coal power plant..."

Well, interest rates have a bit of complication. There's at least 4 things they're a function of: * Time you're looking to borrow / lend at. * Duration of the loan. * Period that the rate is in. * Compounding frequency.

Canada has a median income that is only 6% lower than the US. Describing it as "quite a lot poorer" is plainly nonsense. GDPPC is a mean, and can be skewed by a smaller percentage of the population earning an very high salary. (Th

I really want to say that I hate this, but I'm sure it was invented for a reason. And as someone who used to write half a dozen indices on tensors in general relativity problems, I should probably not be so quick to judge.
