I don't think you are even paranoid by thinking about this. It's certainly possible. Not only to derail fund-raising, it's also a direct PR hit which can cause slowdowns in expansion and feature development.

It looks like a popular sentiment that developing apps for the App store is sharecropping. This pops up every time there is a negative wave of news about the App store. Consider Amazon's Kindle app. I buy books from Amazon and read them on

Same experience here, I have 2 year old bugs fixed 2 major version later. Unfortunately the official bug report system is opaque though.

Well, that's great. In that case, here's what I think: Always push yourself to do more and better work. Wherever reasonable, do the right thing the first time. I know this is hard, especially in a startup, but there are micro-opportunities

Why are you waiting till you are older? Start earlier, learn earlier, learn more, learn faster, fail earlier (when it's less expensive), succeed earlier (and snowball). I wish I started earlier. Way earlier.

No, Notch posts frequently about Minecraft. So everyone who follows him but don't care about Minecraft will get those posts. That's the problem. The only solution now is for him to not post Minecraft related material to Public, but to a par

He wants a circle that he doesn't have to maintain, which the interested audience "subscribe" to. He can then post Minecraft updates to this. He wouldn't know who they are (even if they add him to a circle, he wouldn't know if they are inte

I would never have read about such a story if you haven't shared. Going to get the book. Also sent a teaching friend a link to this. So a big thank you for typing this out and sharing it.

I experimented with AdMob and JumpTap over a few months with budgets ranging between low tens to low thousands for each campaign and even for an app that was $5, it basically didn't work. I didn't get good results with Facebook either, but

No, generally Malaysians are definitely way more entrepreneurial than Singaporeans. Singapore has a much more stable environment and state-managed vibe. Over decades, this tends to encourage less entrepreneurial spirit in people here. This

I was speaking to a business school class here in Singapore. I asked, “How many people would like to start their own company some day?” In a room of 50 people, only one hand (reluctantly) went up. I live in Singapore, and I wonder which s

Build, license or buy their way into an ecosystem. Apple's current formidable strength is its ecosystem of content (app+media) and peripheral of hardware devices (iPhone + iPod touch + iPad + Mac). Let's make a bold assumption that a Mac co

Staffing should be a huge component. Crunchbase[1] lists 3100 employees and yet there's 8000 now. Most of them probably inside sales. Spreading the word out and getting every brick and mortar to hear about and use them is critical now. [1]
