I loved the seriousness of this manifesto. A most-pressing issue indeed. The search for the better shower handle will be squabbled just like the quest for a better mousetrap. My two cents—a cam in the shower handle could follow that curve.

When given an extra brain and the discussion is about cheating. I would love to see journalists explore the broader impacts rather than story leads that generate the maximum engagement.

The 90’s movie Sneakers with Robert Redford comes to mind. It’s a heist movie set in the California Bay Area and without revealing spoilers there’s a fantastic whodunnit involving the decoding of audio signals.

An anecdote was shared about a hospital janitor who was admonished for not mopping a patient’s room during the cleaning scheduled hours and it turns out this janitor was considerate about the patient’s family visiting their child, and there

Let’s stop this meme before Elon starts saying he invented OpenAI. He donated money into the OpenAI charity. Jeff Bezos invested $250,000 in Google back in 1998 but he doesn’t try to claim to be a Google founder.

I once heard a professor say that common sense is knowing when to make an exception. I wonder if this goes against the grain of machine learning systems which seeks to optimize the opposite of the exception.

Hey you’re misquoting me. I’m no Tesla apologist actually looking to get rid of it but this is the way you live with Autopilot. I’m done with Musk and his hypocrisy. All I’m saying is that everyone and their neighbor now drive Teslas but do

I’ve seen the video. This driver had Autopilot on and experienced “phantom braking”. If you drive a Tesla you’ll have experienced phantom braking at some point, a false positive condition when the Autopilot cameras thinks there’s a wall up

It’s relatively easy to take over the controls which instantly disengages FSD or Autopilot. Why this Bay Bridge driver didn’t do that just boggles me. It’s almost like these drivers have lost or no sense of a mechanical aptitude and so when

Electric minivans will sell like hotcakes but why EV carmakers are not onto this idea I don’t know. The large bottom alone could accommodate more cells. 400 EPA miles would be easy. The VW Buzz is probably the closest but it won’t come to t

Any classification is an at-will relationships to Google. Google can choose not to keep/renew anyone. I’ve met many TVCs who have tenure at Google as good as an FTE. The idea was that TVCs are the buffer headcount during recessions and
