If you're not interested in Wraith because you want something that non-programmers can use, you can check out Scylla: http://getscylla.com/ (disclaimer: I wrote it)

Eh, I feel like it's middle-road. If you genuinely had a deep-seeded care about ethics in software, you would be RMS, not using any sort of non-free software. This is exactly the type of thing that justifies his stance. On the other ha

Yes, it may be illegal. Tablets are always illegal to jailbreak. Phones are illegal to jailbreak if it allows unlocking of the phone, and the phone was sold before 2013. It IS legal to jailbreak your phone for the SOLE purpose of accessing

How about this: A very strongly worded statement with a huge assumption stating almost certainty, with a small caveat of 'in my experience' allowing me to refute anyone who might spend time listing out all of the examples of how t

Ah, I had assumed that because the plex app in the announcement is an app for opening videos on your computer (I know that Plex does other apps as well, but this SPECIFIC one is just desktop OSs), that you were talking about that. Anyways,

The good news is that you've been able to do this for years. Not sure why you came here to complain about something you've (nearly) always been able to do with OS-provided media players or VLC.

How many interviews can you afford to have like this? Likely, the decision was already made by you being willing to risk the week of vacation and put in the effort to get hired, while they showed a similar regard. You might be able to get a

Yay?! I didn't have a problem with the way they were pricing before. It matched nearly every other service I use, and it would have cost less (I guess webstorm cost a whole $20 more a year!). I just assumed that all of the people who

Who is "they"? Apple? Because they USED to sell laptops that were serviceable, and have slowly over time migrated to once that aren't. Not because of software, but in order to reduce the size. And EPA? What?

Love it! Just an FYI: The Lenovo W541 and W550 both offer 2880x1620 screens as well as 1080p. And for Linux users out there, the W541 seems to have fixed some of the ACPI incompatibilities, so the nouveau driver works with the quadro cards

It's the intel/nvidia combo that is the problem. Optimus isn't well supported yet, so we have to pick battery life or performance. That said, I always choose performance.

How do you resolve 'executable' files in your VM? I've not been able to run node apps because executables end up getting stored in /node_modules/, but if that is on a windows share, no executable flag is stored. Res
