Well you don't need a lot of CPU for doing AI and motion. Motion means collision detection and keeping the right data structures up to date. AI means things like path finding. Both sets of problems require lots of loops with lots of maths

A grain of salt, cannot fault the article except it skimmed over a couple of areas. Keep these things in mind, especially if 3D graphics is something new for you: Why you shouldn't use WebGL * Performance: This is the big one. In 3D graph

Pre-computed? You mean rainbow tables right? They have gone the way of the dinosaur with salts. Bcrypt has a big fat salt making it mightily impractical to use rainbow tables as the space required is so large.

I think the same thing different box idea has more merit than the patent idea. Microwaves have been around for decades. Patents last 15? 20? years? Plenty of good ideas for microwave interfaces must no longer be patented. But if you have th

The most devoted, upstanding employees are the least paid, and the most conniving, disinterested ones are paid the most. Why can't you be a devoted and upstanding and also treat your relationship with your employer as a business one?

Oh my that NYT feature drove me nuts. Not only does it mess with us habitual selectors but it is basically hidden from the users who need it most, those not savy enough to select-right-click-search-on-google a word they don't understand.

Self taught programmer in a senior position here. Frankly pointing to to being able to implement algorithms as a measure of a programmer's ability is next to useless. Any code monkey can ape a data structure they've seen in a book. Designin

The dust & gravel situation was only one reason the sky-crane was used. The other options of traditional lander or air bags have worse issues beyond dust and gravel and in the case of a lander the dust and gravel issues are worse.
