It's extremely rare that I come across products with a prop 65 warning. And in the rare chance you do see it, like on a bowl, you might learn that some bowl paints and glazes actually have lead in them! Second, information is not meant

Are you adjusting an 8-bit JPG (probably) or a 12-bit JPG (rare)? Try adjusting a 8-bit RAW file and you will have the same problem. You are conflating format and bitrate.

Everything you said is supported by regular image formats. You can adjust white balance of any photo and you think image formats are only limited to 16-bit and sRGB? That’s not why we use RAW. It’s partly because (1) if you used Adobe RGB o

Software engineers tend to downplay artists, designers, marketing and product. Frankly everyone downplays someone else based on their social circle. The only people who don’t have wide social circles but most people don’t.

Going 10mph over the speed limit on a highway, especially because you’re a little late, isn’t a big deal. Going 5mph UNDER in a neighborhood with kids playing around on the street is too fast.

Some types of people are “rule followers” are can’t fathom breaking any rules. There are also “rule breakers” who can’t fathom being told what to do. Both types of people are insufferable.

Selling on benchmarks is like selling users a blender by telling them the efficiency % of the motor. No regular person cares.

You can’t trust public statements for reasoning. One retailer I liked blamed “shifting consumer demand for their demise but they also doubled their store count by like 100 within two years. Consumer demand did shift but they also legitimate

Tell me about it. I even got a monitor color calibration probe and it was not cheap. My next step was going to buy a new monitor too but then I was like… F it I’ll just buy a Mac and call it a day.

I was a diehard PC person but getting colors to display right and consistently on Apple hardware is much easier… so I admitted defeat. p.s. I’m the guy that will point out that one of your white lightbulbs has a slight greener tint over you

Em dashes don’t convey much meaning or clarity for me. Rather, seeing too short of a dash is like putting two clashing colors together or wearing two pieces of clothes that don’t match. It just looks instantly off. It’s just not aesthetical

I think it’s more word of mouth because many professions use the Internet and could surely make use of site preferences. To be honest, I’ve only heard of Kagi on HN and nowhere in any of my friend groups.

I like Pinterest a lot. I find art, tattoo ideas, home decor, concrete/wood builds, clothing fits, wedding themes… It’s like a one-stop-shop when you need some fresh ideas on design.

I am neither bullish or bearish. LLM is a tool. It's a hammer -- sometimes it works well. It summarizes the user reviews on a site... cool, not perfect, but useful. And like every tool, it is useless for 90% of life's situations.

You don't need a shortcut on Word. You just type two hyphens (--) and Word will convert it to an em dash.

On iPhone, type two hyphens to make an em dash: -- into — If OP wrote their post on an iPhone, they would have inadvertently appeared as an LLM by their own test.

It’s the norm because people rather buy one single product that does it all. The alternative to an all-in-one sound bar is having regular 5.1 speakers, a nice receiver, a nice streaming box, and maybe a dumber TV and you will have absolutel
