Personally I think “…but we executed the plan…” is unreasonable at any level, at any job, at any task, and any point in anyone’s life. It’s never a way to go through any part of life. If you set out to complete a task, it should be to achieve your goal. Your should measure your success as achievement of your goal, not by whether you went through the motions.
