I don't think its the fact that its digital. They are quite literally banning books and scrubbing anything DEI related from all their records, but people don't seem to have noticed much.

Some people I know from Saudi Arabia refer to it as Saudi, so maybe thats the better word? I've never heard anyone call it Arabia.

Background removal. that's the main thing i used photoshop for. Last week I noticed that there's an AI version now built into microsoft powerpoint. I have almost no use for photoshop now.

The live interview was already disrupted when they started interviewing a random person as an expert. Everyone watching being misled, to me, is a bigger disruption to the interview than admitting something is wrong. IMO the best thing to sa

Yes! This is a big thing ive noticed in all AI demos. If the best use case you can think of to show off yor tech is to book a holiday, that I could easily do myself, does your service really add much value? Or is it simply because the real

Thery claim this is a masterclass in how to keep your cool under pressure, but that really doesn't appear to be the case? Surely, if you realise you're not the person that's supposed to be interviewed, the correct thing to do

Exploring use cases of world models. I know its a rather vague term, I'm primarily interested in generative models that can create new 3D scenes, in formats such as gaussian splats. Just finishing writing up my PhD thesis (3D modelling

Interesting, so you process the point cloud purely in 2D slices? do things like vertical piping cause any issues? or is 2D enough? I'm just finishing up a PhD in modelling industrial spaces from point clouds so I find this space fascin

I was really impressed with Apple offering reasonably priced hardware of late, like the Neo. Now I see why. They're transitionaing away from the making money off of hardware phase, and into the making money off of you phase.

And of course, your viewpoint, when zoomed out, can be weaponised as a justification for getting rid of orphanages. Those kids aren't unlucky, they should be ashamed of being parentless, as an extension of those parents that decided to

The reason that math works out just fine is because the self driving company makes revenue of $50, pockets $10, its the government that's going to have to figure out how to find $20 to pay UBI. IN other words its not their problem, the

To be fair, if I doomscroll an hour a day for 50 years, I'd literally lose 2 years of my life. (1hr/day * 50 years)/24hrs = 2.1 years.

The president of a country disable another country's cars to push a trade deal because he was in a bad mood? What an utterly ludicrous and silly notion. Is what I would've said two years ago. I wish it was two years ago.

Also, if you've gone from zero to one of the biggest coroporations in the country, and have billions to throw at the 'metaverse', I find it hard to believe that removing CSAM is where you struggle.

As much as I dislike OpenAI, I don't really think a chatbot that rats you out to the feds is the answer here. Does this apply to Google search too? What's the threshold for getting the FBI called on me?
