Interesting, but no, I'm in the UK. We can sit a theory test online I believe, but there's a practical test you have to pass first, which it seems can only be done through clubs.

We've got this slightly weird "soon but not yet" thing going on at the moment, strangely reminiscent of Mark Carney Governor of the Bank of England's infamous and ill fated 'forward guidance' policy. We're

Every time I see a post like this I get the urge to get myself a ham licence, then always realise that realistically I'm never going to join a club in order to do so. I wonder if the authorities might consider, in these interesting tim

I think we (UK) are trying to be too cute about managing the curve, like we can ramp it up to the capacity line then slam on the brakes with the big measures at exactly the right time and keep it ticking along there nicely through the sprin

Indeed, it's sad to behold. That looks a good book mind, thanks. Anyway, as this isn't Bureaucrat News, I think it would be good if we all started to clamp down on links to articles on the quasi-web.

Whenever I see DevOps roles advertised they seem to consist of a wall of product names under "must have x years commercial experience of", which is not at all conducive to attracting a true turn-hand-to-anything generalist.

That's facinating. Do you tend to buy the entity of the business, or would the original owner keep a small stake? And do you get any professional help with the accountancy and legal aspects of the original purchase?

I've added an export function now which exports to Esri .asc format. Not sure how difficult it is to turn that into a .stl, but I found this article[1] which looks helpful. [1] https://research.umn.edu/units/uspati
