It's weird to me. Because on the one hand I can see your point of view, on the other hand - if the CTO of a company is withholding access to things from the CEO that's strange. Is that a recent development, or is that just to prev

I don’t really agree for various reasons. That said, I’m not a huge fan of react, but am stuck working with a few code bases that use it. I prefer vue, but I dislike that it’s essentially a one man show.

You can always try to find the salary range online, too (sometimes). Glassdoor, paysa, + indeed and other sites sometimes try to provide a guestimate range. Take each with a grain of salt of course. I'm very direct with recruiters typi

Agreed. These days I'm always sure to communicate very clearly what my salary requirements are, and I haven't had that happen recently.

If you don't know the salary up front and they won't divulge that info, then why bother interviewing? How often would it be a pleasant surprise?

Have you tried not using R#? The only reason I ask is that a lot of its utility now exists in Visual Studio. R# actually overwrites many default VS key bindings and provides the same functionality, just with a different UI. So people are li

The scenario you give at the end is different. This isn't necessarily about finding advertised unpaid work - it's about getting your foot in the door and can involve offering to work highly discounted, or for free, in exchange for

I don't necessarily think this was great advice. But perhaps you'd care to explain why it is terrible advice? And why is it backpedaling to say "maybe"? There are probably a lot of people who could get this approach righ

If you're in tech you shouldn't need to do it that way. Indeed/linkedin/stackoverflow/craigslist etc all have tons of tech jobs which you can selectively (or not) target. Many require not much more than a resume to
