I filed a bug that this was not spoken about in the announcement. It would seems like it will cause a lot of drama as this actually rolls out. https://github.com/golang/go/issues/33980

You know I'd rather see some of these chrome books with 8g and still in the $300 range. But thanks, that's actually a nice little machine.

I'd be interested but ... 4gig ram. Nice screens, reasonable processing power but they throttle the ram to make you want to spend the $500-750 for the "power" of.... 8 gigs of ram. But with the bloat of a useless(to me) windo

I agree that the incidentals like tracking and form will matter a lot. I think however there is no "proof of existence" of any software or capability that would compel even early adopters to use a 100x100 display, even with all th

That is a pretty bad article about VR that might have been excusable in 2013 but is not on firm ground in 2017 much less 2018. Broadly, almost everything in it has been either not born out (vision concerns) or less of a problem then first a

I suggest you spend some time reading his pretty extensive set of high quality articles on many companies and aspects of AR. This is an industry where outsiders have a very limited understanding of the serious serious problems in front of A

Yes this article seems to be redefining "web brutalism" to be a simple recoloring of the same wretched over designed unusable webpages that "web brutalism" was a reaction to.

Thank you for writing this it was just what I wanted :) What is your sense of the latency guarantees/scheduling to user space graphics and input? This is an area that everything else kind of fails at. "No drawing the groundplane a

I'd really like this to evolve into a standard thing in our linux distros. By which I mean apt-get'able, which it looks very close to. I have no interest in the play store but I would like my lineageos/fdroid userspace availa

I'm sorry you didn't move forward with the state machine integrations. I think some core primitives and conventions exposed at the language level would have developed it into a uniquely useful language environment.

Weird... it's as if text was really important in computing and having a tool at the center that excelled at processing text put you in more fluid control of your computing environment.

I understand that viewpoint but I think the WebVR will be isolating(the normal web doesn't work) and lack uptake until, for example, github.com can be used directly within VR. I don't believe github themselves will make a native c

So in looking forward to a time when people actually want a VR focused browsing experience and just for WebVR/WebGL there is this HUGE gap missing. Where is the "HTMLTexture" support (the hacks for it are janky and not viable

I've never been attracted to the idea of partial application. Without it a function is either in state 0 or 1. It's not called or it has been called. With partial application in the mix, functions are in an almost indeterminate st
