But he did say that about immigrants. Or maybe illegal immigrants if you want to specially charitable. If he would said that about mexican gangs people would be less angry about it.

If she would call nazis super predators no one would imply she's bigoted against whites. To be fair. I agree she could and should have used better phrasing. I can also understand people like Sanders for criticise her. Maybe she even wa

It's a bit tricky, I agree. Like with most of his positions. During the campaign he said that he's against the supreme court ruling since it should be decided by the state. He also said in an interview that he is for "traditi

Please, go find me the exact quote. This is the kind of fake news the whole Trump campaign was built on. Calling violent gangs super-predators is not the same as calling blacks super-predators. Not even a bit.

It would be ideal if they wouldn't have to spend time, but just because things don't work it doesn't mean you're now entitled to take something you didn't pay for. If the blender I bought doesn't work I should

A very happy InfluxDB user here, but did you really had to title your release email "InfluxDB 1.0 GA is Here! Plus 27x Faster than MongoDB Benchmarks"?

I also much prefer this way of breaking long lines. Aligning parameters always looked ugly to me, specially with long function names.

I mentioned earlier we have one config per environment. So for example env.use1.toml, env.use2.toml and env.usw1.toml. Then one more for ci and one example for local development. Sure deployment can generate configs but it has to take it fr

I'm sorry but I really don't understand how having env.production.toml commited in the same repository as code makes anything that you said impossible/more difficult. I can always grab the build from production and run it loc

We decided to decrypt secrets on service startup so if KMS is down during the deploy we can stop the deploy after first server fails to start. Not perfect but good enough for our use case. In case of catastrophic KMS failure we can always m

We deploy code to 3 datacenters so we simply have 3 config files in the repository. Deploy script then decides to link the correct config for the environment. If you want to run local environment you can simply create your own configuration

I never passed judgement on this specific study (I only used the worst interpretation of it as an example), I was arguing against your absurd statement that since eating bread can kill some mice, doing any kind of research on mice is fine.

This is called the continuum fallacy. Just because we cannot draw a strongly defined line it doesn't mean some things aren't definitely wrong. Killing lab mice to develop life saving medicine is fine with me in most cases. Torturi
