Thanks! And uhh.. you can't really, sorry. I didn't really think of that before submitting. Part of the learning process was to create a paid app and learn about the forms and processes required by Apple and Google to sell paid ap

The app is built with Flutter [1], which uses Material design by default. So it's cross-platform, but uses an Android design system. I briefly experimented with making it look more native on iOS, but although Flutter is capable of that

Thanks, I'll fix that right away! Knowing some French I know that the translations can be a bit.. special sometimes. For this app all I can hope for is than in most cases the poor translations are better than no translations.

I was recently inspired by a post on HN: “An app can be a home-cooked meal” [1] and decided I was finally done putting up with time tracking apps that didn't suit my own use case well enough. I hate time-tracking, but it is a requireme

We were in the process of finding a house to rent before this all went down. Now we're stuck in an apartment with our stir-crazy toddler and are both supposed to be working full hours from home. It's.. difficult, to say the least.

I just replaced the battery in my iPhone a couple months ago. I ended up paying Apple over $300 because the glass on the bezel had a small crack on it and they wouldn’t touch it unless I replaced the entire screen too. It’s not “just $20” t

AFAIK, there's a difference between MSHTML (internet explorer) and EdgeHTML (edge / trident). But even then, Edge can be somewhat lacking depending on your use case [1]. For simple apps that just need a simple UI without spending

Looks kind of like WebView [1] which I earnestly tried but eventually abandoned. Using the system-provided web engine is great for space savings, but terrible for cross-compatibility and feature availability owing to having to use IE on Win

I have a 32" curved ultrawide (3440x1440) at home and a 32" 4k at work. I work and game from home, and I mostly prefer the ultrawide even though it has less pixels. For the ~ decade before I got this monitor I used to use 2x24&quo

You were still allowed to watch TV shows then, I presume? Just like pretty much everyone I know? Our daughter is too, and we absolutely control what she can and can not watch. But in HN terms, YouTube is a massive foot-gun compared to other

You have a very understanding kid then, I'm jealous. We let ours decide what to watch / play out of a handful of things we've hand-picked as OK (such as Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood or Super Simple Songs), and iOS's

Not the OP, but we tried that with my daughter. It turns out that’s only a viable strategy if you’re willing to absolutely never use a phone or tablet or computer or tv in their presence, ever.
