I don’t know why people are so obsessed with “Bitcoin’s utility.” So many things in our life have little utility other than being pleasurable. Many people get on planes to go on vacation purely because it feels good to get away. They don’t

I’m not pro Bitcoin. I’m just pointing out that your tire burning scheme is the other 99.9%. You like those tires, but not these ones.

I don't wish to improve society. I'm just highlighting people's hypocrisy. No one in the west can complain about climate change. Our entire lifestyle is so wasteful in every way.

Food feeds you, but many people choose to eat food that is wasteful. Your home protects you, but many people live in large homes in climates that require heating and cooling. Your iPhone from China does things you like, which really is what

I think it'd be rare for RSU's in a public company to be worth nothing. These aren't options, but actual shares. The only way they'd be worth nothing is in the event of bankruptcy.

I feel like you shouldn't complain about bitcoin if you drive a car or have been on an airplane in the last year. Or if you have received goods manufactured overseas. Or live / work in a building that uses concrete. Or consume bee

One benefit of RSUs that you should consider is that you are granted them at your start date even if they vest years out. This gives you a ton of “time in the market” and they generally appreciate quite significantly if you’ve picked a good

If the city wants to recognize "parking in a free spot in front of someone's house when there is a free spot, covered in snow, in front of the car owner's house" as a legitimate problem then the city should codify it int

I haven’t used Neon, but from reading the docs, napi-res looks nicer. You add a single macro to the function you want to expose and everything else just works. You don’t even need a special JsResult like Neon uses.

Just to add on to this, Russia needs support in the region. Most democratically elected governments do not choose to align themselves with Russia. This is why Putin always props up nearby dictators. Without support, Putin’s regime and power

napi-rs is AMAZING. It makes writing native Node JS libraries trivially easy. Great job!

Is an operating system really a fair comparison? Most libraries depend on the operating system, and the usage of OS independent libraries would be limited to mostly operating systems. Not a very big market.

Someone who calls the police on their neighbor for parking more than 3 hours, and then parks in the same spot themselves for more than 3 hours is nothing more than a hypocrite.

That's a much more nuanced argument, so thanks for writing that out. I'll counter with this: widespread lawbreaking only occurs when laws are selectively enforced or not enforced at all. For instance, most people jay walk because

UUIDs aren’t particularly complex. In a lot of ways, they’re more convenient than using an auto-incrementing identifier. For instance, if you’re using DynamoDB, getting an incrementing integer is way more complicated than a random UUID.
