I haven't personally drawn a hard line in the question of whether or not IP law as a whole is good or bad. I hate to use this cop-out answer, but it depends. I'm sorry for jacking your analogy, but I think it holds water. Diamonds

They're not talking about the mole outsourcing his work so he can slack. The whole operation runs at a net loss in order to place the mole in a position to support the financier's goals.

To me it sounds like the fact that you're "slacking" for five hours a day is what enables you to complete your work effectively during the other three hours. I expect that if you forced yourself to slack less and do more hour

It sounds like you're the manager in this case, and that your intentions are genuine. But are you entirely sure that your team feels the same? I've done similar, but in local restaurants during working hours. It's unfair to i

Best $1.99 I spent all morning. Your score disappears on game over, so I didn't get a chance to see my exact high score. Somewhere in the 1,700s I think.

I drove through the new tunnel today, and this is exactly what the ventilation looks like. I noticed they spun very slowly, which is likely variable based on detected air quality.

Local sentiment is very positive. I'll be making my first trip through the tunnel tomorrow for last minute Christmas deliveries.

I think "depends" and "hefty" are arguable. The subsidy is currently at ~105M USD (and shrinking) on a GDP of ~3.2B USD.

I think he's referring to the fact that this tunnel is constructed by a Norwegian company. Thus return on investment from Norwegian money.

The Faroe Islands were part of Norway for 800 years until about 200 years ago. Nordic territorial rivalries continue to exist as friendly banter (for now).

You're right, there's not a direct and linear increase in demand as price goes up. I concede my Veblen point.

Owning Apple gear signals status among a significant portion of the population. Maybe not for you, me or the majority of HN's clientele. But even for those who don't buy into this definition, adhering to it can still bring tactica

It's a matter of economics. Passage will be tolled [1] and this particular tunnel is projected to make economic sense based on expected traffic. Also, there's not much interest in a bridge/tunnel connecting Strendur and Runav
